The Sr. Financial Analyst position will focus on financial reporting,  financial and data analytics and business planning. This role is responsible for leveraging and presenting financial data to help business leaders make optimal decisions. The role reports to the Director of FP&A and involves frequent interaction with the Medical Economics team, external partners and senior executives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive short and long term financial planning processes and models in partnerships with business leads
  • Perform analytics to support P&L reporting by product and market, with particular focus on utilization, cost, revenue, risk scores (“RAF”), claims data and membership data
  • Analyze and interpret expected versus actual revenue results including identification of opportunities for revenue improvement
  • Develop and perform health utilization, cost and quality analytics in partnership with Medical Economics and other operational teams to understand drivers of cost trends
  • Create ad-hoc financial analyses to support financial and operational execution
  • Serve as power user for Hyperion planning and reporting software
  • Act as a resource for less experienced Financial Analysts
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related field is required. MBA is preferred
  • Previous experience with managed care or capitated provider group is required
  • Previous financial planning/forecasting & analysis experience is required
  • Previous experience with Hyperion Essbase
  • Advanced level of proficiency with SQL
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel and other office suites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build/maintain working relationships across departments
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Being self-motivated and resourceful; being able to take initiative
