In search of an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise. He or she will assist in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and management.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform Human Resources generalist functions for 400 employees in a manufacturing company.

 

Effectively manage labor relations including contract interpretation, grievance procedures, disciplinary issues, and conflict resolution.

Ensure that HR practices and policies are in compliance with state and federal regulations and that all actions taken are legally defensible.

Maintain a strong visibility with the workforce, develop programs that enhance productivity and employee morale and provide coaching support to hourly employees.

Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and strategies that balance the needs of the plant’s business objectives with employees’ needs.
Coordinate training efforts utilizing both inside and outside resources. Supervise 3 full time hourly trainers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree required

Masters Degree Preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in HR in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Understanding of applicable labor laws and HR theory required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of labor relations experience.
  • Project management experience with training programs required.
